Sointula Recreation Association also maintains two other children’s play parks, a hiking trail, and the Big Lake recreation area.

Ahola Children’s Park

Located on the beach side of the road, in Rough Bay, Ahola Children’s Park is a fenced area geared towards younger children.

Preschool Park

Located beside the Old School Building, on 1st Street, and boasting a beautiful view of the Johnstone Straight, this is another fenced area geared towards younger children.

Big Lake Recreational Area

Picturesque and tranquil, Big Lake is a cedar lake. Don’t let the tea-coloured water fool you, though; it’s perfect for a summer swim from the sandy beach!

Mateoja Heritage Trail

Picturesque, tranquil and quaint and boasting the Melvin’s Bog Boardwalk. The trail meanders along the back side of Big Lake, and Little Lake, through 2nd growth forest.

The Tennis Court

Maintained by The Sointula Recreation Association, the Tennis Court is available for a game or two.
