Facilities & Recreation Areas
Our repertoire of facilities and recreational areas extend from the FO Hall to the Arnold Groesnik Ballpark to the Ahola Play Park to The Mateoja Historical Trail. Sointula Recreation Association maintains and manages them all. If you see anything out of the ordinary when using our facilities or areas, please let us know.
Finnish Organization Hall
The Finnish Organizational Hall is located at 285 1st Street. The largest of our facilities, it hosts 3 meeting spaces, 2 kitchens, and a stage. For more information on the FO Hall, please click here.
Athletic Hall
Once known (and still known) as the Old Firehall, The Athletic Hall is located next to the FO Hall, at 110 13th Avenue. Sporting Gillnet décor, in true fishing village style, it hosts a large gathering space, as well as a kitchen. For more information on the Athletic Hall, please click here.
The Lower Annex
Located across the street from the two halls at 285 1st Street, the Lower Annex hosts 1 gathering space, known as the Dance Studio, as well as the local Library branch, Museum, and Thrift Store. For more information on the Lower Annex, please click here.
The Teen/Tween Centre
Located on the edge of town, by the Recycling Centre, the Teen/Tween Centre is a safe space for our youth to meet up and hang out. For more information, please click here.
The Fitness Centre
Boasting exercise equipment, the Fitness Centre is located in the same building as the Teen/Tween Centre on the edge of town. For more information, please click here.
The Recreation Office
Our office is located at 270 1st Street, and is open by appointment on Wednesdays from 10-2pm for in person inquiries.
Arnold Groesnik Memorial Park
Also known as the Ball Park, Arnold Groesnik Park is located at 515 13th Avenue. A children's park is also located here. For more information, please click here.
Lake, Trail & Recreation Areas
Other recreation areas Sointula Recreation Association are the Ahola Children's Park, the Preschool Park, Mateoja Heritage Trail, Big Lake Beach Recreation Area and the Tennis Court. For more information on these areas, please click here.
